Birthday bash for Lil’ People’s Place

Lil’ Peoples’ Place students and staff celebrated their 10-year anniversary Friday with carnival games and food.
‘We are so proud to be an established part of the Clarkston community and look forward to many more years of service,? said Heather Johnston, director.
They opened their 6521 Citation Drive location May 4, 1998, and a second, 6475 Waldon Center Drive, followed three years later.
‘We cater to the needs of working families by providing hot meals, flexible hours, web-cameras, and peace of mind to parents that their children are in a secure, nurturing, educational environment,? Johnston said.
Teacher qualifications are higher than state requirements, and security includes cameras, key cards, and controlled access. A fulltime cook on staff provide meals.
The center provides infant care, toddlers, preschool, pre-k, all day kindergarten, before/after care with transportation, and summer camp, using literacy-based curriculum.
