On Monday Brandon Senior Guard Danielle Kwasiborski traded her Blackhawk jersey for Oakland Community College Raiders attire.
Kwasiborski, 17, received a full athletic scholarship to play basketball for the Lady Raiders this fall’a culmination of plenty of hard work, great coaching and help from her dad, she said.
Kwasiborski, a BHS standout guard who played three years on varsity, averaging 17 points per game her junior and senior years, said she is ready to step up to the collegiate level.
‘I’m ready for the challenge,? said Kwasiborski.
‘I expect the game to be a lot faster and I know the shot clock will make the game different. I’d like to go on to a four-year school after OCC.?
Marv Allen, Oakland Community College head women’s basketball coach, joined Kwasiborski at the high school on Monday.
‘We strongly believe she can score,? said Allen. ‘She goes to the hoop strong and can hit the three point shots. She will fit our running style of basketball and our system at OCC.?
Allen said the Raiders will have seven players returning and five new players joining the team.
Last year the Raiders finished 23-8, second in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Eastern Conference.
The Lady Raiders earned a trip to the MCCAA Final Four in the 2008 season.
