Ann Arbor — For the second time in as many years, a former Blackhawk has landed on the field of the Big House.
Mathew Harrison, a 2019 Brandon High School graduate and Blackhawk football standout has overcome injuries, a pandemic and the rigors of making a Big 10 football team, stepped in as a wide receiver during the 59-0 win over the University of Connecticut Huskies last weekend in Ann Arbor.
“It’s a great experience to be in front of all the fans at the Big House,” said Harrison, a 6-foot-3-inch, 207 pound, wide-receiver. “I was a lot more comfortable this time on the field, I knew what to expect this time.”
Harrison was on the field during the Sept. 18, 2021, Michigan 63- 10 rout over Northern Illinois at Ann Arbor. In February 2019, Harrison earned a spot on the University of Michigan Football roster as a preferred walk-on.”
“They gave me an opportunity to make the team and get in the best shape of my life,” he said.
