Blackhawk XC third at O’Mara Invitational

Atlas Twp. — The Ortonville Brandon Cross Country teams traveled to Goodrich Middle School for the Kayla O’Mara Invitational. The Blackhawk Boys Cross Country team finished third in the eighth team division.
They were led by BHS Jacob Hylton 17:34 fourth in the division and 12th overall in the 16 team field. Hylton was followed by BHS Chase Compau 19:23 and Braxton Spurr 19:51 who took 15th and 19th in the division and received medals. BHS Troy Wychuyse 23:43 and Alex Burch 25:28 finished out the results on the day. Alex had the best race of his career with a 2 minute PR.
The Lady Blackhawks were third in the small school division. They were led by BHS Senior Clara Mackey 23:10 who took eighth in the small school division, she was followed by fellow BHS seniors Danielle St James 23:03 and BHS Addisoin Hollenbeck 25:10 who took 11th and 17th in the division both also earned medals. BHS Emma Mulcahey 27:09, Sadie Buell 27:21, and Lilly Mastin 27:23. Lilly and Sadie recorded personal bests on the day.
The Brandon Blackhawks cross country team next meet was the Flint Metro League Championship at Lake Fenton High School on Oct.16.
