Bomb threat ends in commitment of man

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of a bomb threat at Kohl’s on Baldwin Road on Dec. 24.
According to an OCSD report, deputies responded to a call from a Goodrich man, who said an unknown man had told him to call the lieutenant at the OCSD and tell him there was a terrorist with a bomb in his vehicle on Baldwin.
Deputies thought the unknown person might be a 56-year-old Beech Tree Court man, who they said suffers from mental problems. Deputies said the man had called and stopped by the OCSD numerous times over the past week attempting to talk to the lieutenant.
Deputies searched the area for the man and another deputy found the man was not at his home. A neighbor said he had spoken to her that morning about terrorists. Deputies eventually located the man and took him into custody. He was then committed to a hospital.
