Bowlers rolled into action on Monday finished their regular OAA season against Ferndale.
The girls defeated Ferndale, 27-3.
The win put them at a 8-1 record and second place in the conference.
Caitlyn Stebbins led the team in series.
The boys tied their game, 15-15 and finished the season with a 6-1-2 record.
Jim Stapleton led the team with a 480 two-game series. Jake Smith shot 444 while Pat Zuker chipped in with a 408.
The tied game of 15-15 knocked the boys out of a three-way tie for first place in the conference.
Zuker lead the team with a two-game series of 452, followed by Paul Anderson’s 446. Stapleton continued his high level bowling shooting 426 while Nate Keck bowled 213 in his only game.
Last Saturday, the teams competed in the Tri-County Bakers Dozen tournament at Five Star Lanes in Sterling Heights.
There were 28 teams entered, many of them are top teams in the area. The boys finished second in their tournament and the girls finished in fourth.
The boys finished third in the 12-game qualifying round. They defeated Bangor John Glenn in the first elimination round, Sterling Heights Stevenson in the second round, and number one state-ranked Detroit Catholic Central in the semi-finals.
They lost to number two state-ranked L’Anse Creuse North in the finals.
The girls qualified seventh after 12 baker games. In match play, they defeated Farmington Harrison in two matches, L’Anse Creuse North in three matches, and lost to Anchor Bay in two matches.
The boys competed against Royal Oak on Jan. 28. Royal Oak had only one previous win and tied with the Wolves, 15-15.
The girls won their game match against Royal Oak, 27-3.
They had Baker games of 225 and 208 to begin the meet and followed it up with a match play series of 900 led by Alice Meyer’s 242 and Caitlyn Stebbins? 218.
The OAA Conference Tournament is this Saturday at Wonderland in Commerce.
‘The girls have hopes of walking away with the conference championship,? said Coach Rodney Pierson.
