The Wildcats of Oxford traveled to Hartfield Lanes in Berkley to bowl against the Birmingham Unified team on Wednesday Feb. 11.
The Wildcats had a good afternoon.
The Lady Cats rolled to 27-3 victory. After winning both baker games, the Oxford Girls bowled games of 870 and 884 to Birmingham’s 776 and 835 to close out the match.
Top honors for the day when to Alyssa Hurlburt with games of 210 and 224. Abby Pappas tossed a nice 196 and Hannah Farmer rolled a 200.
The girls record now stands at 6-1 on the season, tied with Lake Orion for the top spot in the OAA red division.? On Thursday, February 19 the Wildcats will face of with the Lake Orion Dragons with the OAA title on the line. That match will be at Collier lanes.
‘The girls are hitting on all cylinders right now. It is nice to see all the hard work paying off. The match with Lake Orion will be a fun match to watch.?
The boys also came away with a victory 19-11. It wasn’t as easy or pretty but a victory nonetheless. After splitting baker games, with the Birmingham team the Wildcats rolled a solid 1072 game to Birmingham’s 962. Game 2 and the match when right down to the last frame before Oxford pulled out a narrow 897 to 874 victory.
Drew Pappas had a strong 266 game to help secure the win.
Also Jake Delong tossed 215 and 200, Luke Delong had a 211 and Brady Wynkoop threw a 224.
This moves the Wildcats to a 9-1 record alone atop the OAA Red Division.
They will wrap up their match play season Thursday against the Dragons.
