Great food, good music, a fabulous setting and the opportunity to support the programs of the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan — Orion/Oxford Club will be available to guests at the club’s Taste of the Town.
The annual event takes place Feb. 28 at Castello di Bologna of Canterbury Village. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
During the evening, guests can sample speciality items from area restaurants including Poppyseed Deli, Costco, Orion House, Montana Steak House, Metamora Golf & Country Club, Castello Di Bologna, Stir Crazy, Max & Erma’s, Kalloway’s, Mr. Pita, Victoria Delights, CJ’s Parkside Catering, Red Knapp’s, Starbucks, Empire Wok, Tastefully Simple and others.
Guests can listen and dance to the music of the Wayback Machine and bid at a silent auction. A cash bar will also be available.
A number of items such as a framed autographed Steve Yzerman jersey, floor seats to a Piston’s game with VIP parking, jewelry, original artwork and two boat trips will be sold to the highest bidder during the live auction.
Joe Fowlkes of Golden Gavel Auctions and Appraisals will be volunteering as auctioneer for the evening.
The club is located at 55 Elizabeth Street in Lake Orion. It offers a variety of programs and activities for youth ages 6-18 after school and on Saturdays throughout the school year and Monday-Friday during the summer.
Its programs are primarily supported by donations, grants and fundraisers. The local club has been in existence since 1991. It became part of the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan in 2000.
All proceeds of the Taste of the Town will support the programs of the local club.
