The Wildcats ran their unbeaten streak to five games on the lacrosse field with a 17-2 win over visiting North Farmington in an Oakland Activities Association match up on April 23.
Lars Kokate scored five goals for the second game in row to pace Oxford, while Noah Grove, a recent move to attack, contributed six assists. Sophomore Scott Randall had two goals and three assists, while Travis Simat, Austin Kreschock and Adam Cole added two tallies. Kreshock had four assists.
Senior captain Kevin Dutzy scored three goals and added two assists to pace the Wildcats.
‘Kevin is finally starting to do what we’re asking of him offensively,? said Greg Normand, Oxford’s head coach. ‘He has five points tonight, but more importantly he ran the offense the way we want and right now that’s bigger than scoring points. He’s really beginning to play well.?
Jared Tasch recorded his fifth victory in a row and had five saves for the Wildcats.
Piper Thaler and Owen Bachusz paced the defense with five ground balls each during the win over 1-6 North Farmington.
The Wildcats were on the road Friday April 26 to play neighboring rival Lake Orion, before traveling south to Ann Arbor to tangle with Ann Arbor Greenhills on Saturday April 27.
Unfortunately the boys fell both to the Dragons and the Greenhills. Lake Orion beat Oxford 5 to 12 and the Greenhills won 1 to 9.
The Wildcats next home match will be May 2 at Bloomfield Hills starting at 7 p.m. The next home match will be May 4 at 1 p.m. against Lakeland.
