The Dragon put forth a great effort May 20 at the Track Team Regionals.
Brad Cross in the 3200 meter run, Michael Roberts in the 300 meter hurdles, and Davis Rossman in the discus all set personal records. Then the 800 meter relay team, composed of senior K.J. Ester, freshman Corey Ester, freshman Zach Arnold, and junior Nick Balavich finished in second place to qualify for the State Meet and simultaneously setting the school record with a time of 1:30.0.
Not to be out done, the 1600 meter relay team of senior Matt Emerick, senior Dominic Arnold, Zach Arnold and Nick Balavich smashed the school record by three seconds. They also finished six seconds faster then their seasonal best, with a time of 3:23.9, and also qualified for the State Meet.
Freshman Zach Arnold ran in the 200 meter, breaking a personal best with 22.4 to finish second and qualify for States. Nick Balavich also qualified on time in the 400 meter dash with a personal best of 50.1
Overall, head coach Stan Ford felt it was a ‘very good night for the speedy Dragons.?
