The Lake Orion High School boys track team polished off another winning regular season, going undefeated in OAA I.
On May 11, the Dragons defeated West Bloomfield 70-58, and Farmington Hills Harrison, the two-time defending state champion, 95-33.
The Lake Orion girls fell to Harrison 68-60, and defeated West Bloomfield, 69-59.
For the Lake Orion boys against Harrison, the 3200 relay team prevailed (8:20.5), as well as Ryan Allison in the 110 hurdles (14.6), and the 300 hurdles (38.8). Lake Orion also won the 800 relay (1:30.5), as Ryan Lewandowski took the long jump (20-9), and the high jump (6-2).
Billy Peterson had the 1600 (4:41.5) for the team, as well as the 3200 (10:09), while Trent Varva took the discus (133-1), and the shot put (50). Adam Martin finished first in the 400 (52.0), as did Keith Magic in the 800 (2:00.8), and the 1600 relay team (3:28.4).
Against the Lakers, Lake Orion also won the 400 relay (44.8), losing the 3200 relay, discus, and 1600 relay.
For the Lake Orion girls, against Harrison, the Dragons took the 3200 relay (10:05.2), Alicia Lau in the shot put (28-7), and Lindsay
Gaudard in the 1600 (5:16.7). Gaudard also won the 3200 (11:29).
Blaire James won for the Dragons in the high jump (4-6), while Renae Reilly took the 800 (2:32.5). Kara Slossom won the discus (87-8) for the team.
In their victory over the Lakers, Lake Orion took the 100 hurdles, with Andrea Hitchcock finishing 16.8, and the 100, with Suzanne Rose finishing 14.0. The team also won the long jump (Jessica Hutchison, 14-9), and the 400 relay (54.0).
Against West Bloomfield, the Dragons also had the 400 (James, 1:06.5), and the 200 (Hutchison, 27.8).
Lake Orion lost the shot put, high jump, 800, and discus to the Lakers.
On May 15, the boys team won the C.S. Mott Invitational, with 98 points.
The teams will travel to Regionals on May 21, the league meet on May 25, and the county meet on May 28.
