Flint — The Flint Southwestern Academy Knights came up short on Feb. 22 and the Brandon Blackhawks Boys Varsity Basketball team 73-46,
Blackhawk Juniors Demitri McNear had 24 and Anthony Mirolli had 20 to lead Brandon.
“This team continues to improve,” said Blackhawk Head Coach Matthew Christensen. “They have not had many wins this year but they haven’t quit and keep working toward our program goal. I truly believe this group will keep growing and improving. We are playing our best basketball going into the playoffs.”
The young Blackhawks will return four of their starters next year.
“We only have three seniors so we were an inexperienced team at the beginning of the year,” he said. “We are learning what it takes to compete at the varsity level. That should carry into next year.”
