Brandon netters avenge loss to Holly

Brandon’s volleyball team earned a key league victory against Holly in a Feb. 2 matchup.
The host Blackhawks defeated the Bronchos 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20. Brandon improved to 15-15-6 overall and 4-4 in the Flint Metro League, good for fourth place in the league.
Brandon is also 4-0 at home so far, and Coach Brian Williams said he hopes the Blackhawks can improve their Flint Metro League standing as they play the other league teams a second time.
Lindsay Moskal had 13 kills and four blocks for the Blackhawks, while Andrea Lewis had a perfect day serving, connecting on all 16 of her attempts. Ashley Prescott was 12-of-13 serving with 26 assists, while Alyssa Tierney had 12 digs and was 11-of-11 passing.
‘We played a great game versus Holly,? Williams said. ‘I think our girls were more focused for this game considering we had lost to Holly in five games in the first Metro League game of the year.?
Williams said the Blackhawks had one of their best passing games of the year, with Lewis and Tierney leading the way. He added that Prescott and Moskal had their best games of the year against the Bronchos, noting that Prescott controlled the tempo of the game with her serving and setting.
The Blackhawks also had a scheduled Feb. 6 game against Fenton, but that was rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 8.
