The four men arrested Jan. 28 for 11 car burglaries in the area waived their rights to an exam Feb. 7 at the 52-2 District Court in Clarkston and were bound over to the Oakland County Circuit Court for hearings on Feb. 18 and 19.
In addition, Matthew Major, 18, of Clarkston and Michael Jensen, 18, of Iowa received and were arraigned on two more charges for larcenies from an automobile, Detective Jerry DeRosia, of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department in Independence Township, said. Major and Jensen waived their exam on these charges as well. Major received a $20,000 cash bond and Jensen a $50,000 bond or 10 percent.
Major, Jensen and Mark Rollinson are currently AWOL from United States Army base Fort Drum in New York. The men, along with 20-year-old Aaron Davenport of New York, admitted to burglarizing 11 vehicles throughout various parts of Independence Township, the City of the Village of Clarkston and one in Waterford occurring late Saturday night, Jan. 25, and early Sunday morning, Jan. 26.
The men used an aluminum baseball bat to smash out vehicle windows and stole various items including stereos, CD players, cell phones and general property. Most of the property was recovered.
