With a candidate filing deadline of last Tuesday, the ballot is set for the Aug. 7 primary election.
Candidates for Independence Township supervisor include Republicans Terry Fortuna, Patrick Kittle, Todd Waring, and Neil Wallace, who is currently township trustee.
Incumbent Clerk Barb Pallotta will defend her seat against Jeff Decker, both running as Republicans. Curt Carson, incumbent treasurer, is running against Republican challengers Paul Brown and Nanci Anderson-Bereznicki.
Running for four trustee nominations are Republicans Jose Aliaga, Brian Foster, Joette Kunse, Al Pope, Bruce Quigley, Ronald Ritchie, Andrea Schroeder, and incumbent David Lohmeier; and Democrats Joe Wauldron, Jeremy Mitchell, and Kevin Bushroe.
In Springfield Township, incumbent Supervisor Collin Walls is seeking to retain his seat against challengers Ginny Fischbach and Steve Kovacs III.
Incumbent Treasurer Jamie Dubre is running against challenger Rita Hawes.
Running for four trustee seats are incumbents Judy Hensler, Dave Hopper, and Denny Vallad, and challengers Marc Cooper and Kevin N. Sclesky.
Clerk Laura Moreau is running unopposed.All Springfield Township candidates are running for Republican nominations.
