A northbound car driving in the southbound lane caused an accident Thursday, Jan. 8 on M-24, just north of Drahner Road, around 3 p.m.
According to the report from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, a 17-year-old Clinton Township man, who was northbound in his 1999 Ford Mustang, “admits he was not paying attention and crossed left over the center line into (the) southbound lanes.”
The Clinton Township youth’s vehicle then struck a southbound 1999 Ford Ranger pickup truck, driven by a 19-year-old Oxford Township woman.
After the collision, the Mustang skidded across the southbound lanes, scraped the side of a large tree and ended up on the front lawn of an office building located at 834 S. Lapeer Road.
Both drivers refused medical transport at the scene, according to the sheriff’s report.
The Cinton Township man was cited by sheriff’s deputies for “driving left of center,” the report stated.
