Clarkston Area Youth Assistance is seeking nominations for its annual Youth Recognition Event scheduled for May 16.
The purpose of the event is to recognize youth who made an outstanding contribution to an individual or an organization without compensation for their time. Nominees are selected based on voluntary services; paid services are ineligible.
Community members can nominate youth who volunteered in an extraordinary way such as personal acts of heroism or community services performed in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, churches or parks.
All deserving youth nominated from the community will be recognized in some way for their contributions. All those nominated receive certificates and the top recipients receive medallions.
The nominees, their parents and those who nominate are invited to a dessert reception on May 16.
Here is a list of guidelines for nominating a youth:
? The nominee must reside within the Clarkston School District.
? Those nominating must be of adult age.
? Nominations must be submitted on an official nomination form available by calling the Youth Assistance office at 248-625-9007.
? Nominees are judged based on their voluntary services performed. The judgement of the selection committee is final.
? Forms must be returned by April 1.
