Saturday was a special day for math enthusiasts at is was 3/14/15 – Special Pi Day. The next time the first five digits in the infinite number won’t show up again for 100 years.
The Wint Nature Center in Independence Oaks was one of the places to honor Pi with crafts and activities as kids (and parents) learned about Pi and numbers in nature. Pi Day wouldn’t be complete with a real pie as they made hobo pies out of bread, butter and fruit and toasted them over a campfire.
They joined around the campfire one more time before they left to sing Happy Birthday to Albert Einstein, who’s birthday was on Pi Day.
