The Oxford High School varsity competitive cheer team took fourth place with a score of 756 at the Grand Blanc High School Invitational Jan. 30.
Oxford varsity scored a 228.5 in round one, which is their highest score all season, according to Head Coach Nicole Curtiss.
In the second round, they scored a 222.6 and beat their previous round two score by 17 points. ‘Round three was a great accomplishment this week,? Curtiss said. ‘The girls scored their highest in all three rounds this week, with a 305.6 in round three. With a total score of 756, the girls beat the highest school record.?
‘What a great day for Oxford and many more to come,? Curtiss said.
The girls finished behind Grand Blanc, Waterford Mott, and Walled Lake Western.
The girls will next compete Feb. 6 at the OAA Championship to be held at Rochester High School.
