Clarkston Police Chief Ernest Combs told the Clarkston City Council on Feb. 28 that officers targeted the downtown area in search of onstreet parking violators in response to a discussion at the Feb. 14 meeting.
Officers marked vehicles on eight separate occasions, resulting in six tickets. While three tickets were issued at one business location, Combs said he did not see a trend of blatant disregard for time limits posted.
‘There is a good turnover,? Combs said. ‘There’s going to be a spotty violation here and there.?
Officers will continue to monitor the situation, but Combs said he did not want it to be overkill.
‘I don’t want to get into a situation where people are afraid to come downtown and park,? Combs said.
