In an effort to address the ongoing need for volunteers, and understanding the many in our community who want to help, the Clarkston Community Initiative has introduced a volunteer website, www.clarkstonconnects.org.
Clarkston area non-profit organizations are encouraged to register their volunteer opportunities online so every community member interested in giving of their time may visit one location to determine the best match for their talents, interests and skills.
Clarkston Area Youth Assistance, for example, has a waiting list of at least six youth interested in being matched up with an adult mentor. The community initiative’s new website will help Youth Assistance’s efforts by making volunteer opportunities such as mentoring easily accessible to everyone.
The website is designed to help organizations recruit volunteers and also enables anyone interested in sharing their time and talent with others determine what opportunities are available to best match their abilities.
Organizations may post single or ongoing volunteer needs.
