Stacey Anne Mercado, daughter of Dr. Bruce and Marcia Mercado of Clarkston, and Lawrence Michael Allswede, son of Russell and the late Debora Sue Allswede of Lansing, were married on Saturday, June 14, by the Rev. Richard Dake at Clarkston United Methodist Church.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Clarkston High School and attended Michigan State University, where the couple met in the Spartan Marching Band.
Lawrence is a 2001 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School.
The bride is employed by Grand Blanc Schools as a high school science teacher. The groom is an insurance agent with Bankers Life and Casualty, and also performs with the Detroit Pistons Drumline.
The Allswedes reside in Hartland, Mich.
Clarkston grad weds
Erica Nienstedt, daughter of Richard and Patricia Nienstedt of Clarkston, and John Burris, son of Thomas and Mary Burris of Lansing, were married on March 6th, 2008. The couple exchanged vows in front of 30 friends and family in a small chapel in Las Vegas, NV.
The bride is a 1993 graduate of Clarkston High School and 1998 graduate of the University of Michigan ? Ann Arbor.
The groom is a 1987 graduate of Waverly High School and 2001 graduate of Monroe Community College.
He is currently serving as a Detroit police office and is finishing his Criminal Justice degree through Ferris State University.
Following the wedding, the couple honeymooned in Naples, Fla. A local reception has been planned for July.
