Clarkston PTSA selling CHS replica for fund-rasier

Would you like to give a loved one a small piece of Clarkston for the holidays? Or how about buying a small piece of Clarkston for yourself?
If so, the Clarkston High School PTSA fund-raising team is ready to help by offering wooden replicas of historic Clarkston landmarks for sale.
‘We have a number of buildings on Main Street as well as a few of the lovely, historic homes of Clarkston,? says Cathy Alty, PTSA Fund-raising Chairperson.
Examples include the John Green house, Maccabee Temple, Clarkston Conservatory of Music, The Clarkston News office and Clarkston State Bank, just to name a few.
Prices range from $10 to $18. All proceeds from the sale benefit the students at CHS through PTSA programs and annual scholarships to graduating seniors.
A limited number of the historic Clarkston Village Collection are available at the Clarkston Country Store on Main Street, the Clarkston State Bank Main Street branch and from Cathy Alty.
The newest piece is a break from recent tradition and is a replica of the Clarkston High School building erected in 1999.
‘We felt that being able to own a replica of the CHS building was a wonderful gift idea,? said Alty, ‘as we know there are plenty of recent grads who are homesick and would enjoy having a small piece of their hometown in their suitcase. Soon to be grads would also enjoy the piece, as graduation will be here before we realize it!?
A presale is currently underway for the new CHS piece and is available for ordering by contacting Cathy Alty at 248-969-3686 or by email at Alltees5@aol.com.
