By themselves, little feet can only travel so far, but together they go the distance and beyond.
During Clear Lake Elementary’s Fun Run back in September, the school’s 483 students ran and walked a combined 6,652 laps and in the process, raised more than $12,000 for the school’s PTO.
An assembly to celebrate this accomplishment and hand out prizes was held Friday afternoon.
First-grader Brianna Maier raised the most money of any individual student, $520, and for her efforts, received a 20-inch bike donated by Main Street Bicycles in the Oxford Marketplace.
Teacher Maureen Sullivan’s second-graders generated the most money of any classroom at Clear Lake, $969, and for their hard work, earned a Discovery Kids Ultimate Planetarium. ? CJC
