Brandon Twp.- Improved communication is one of three goals recently established by the school board for the district.
School officials are now seeking input on how best to accomplish that goal.
Superintendent Lorrie McMahon said this week a survey will be posted soon on the district’s website, www.brandonschooldistrict.org.
‘We are surveying parents on how they want to receive school information, what is happening at the schools, finances, what is going on with activities,? she said. ‘We are looking to limit the amount of paper sent out. Will people be just as happy with electronic information??
Currently, the district sends out printed newsletters, report cards, and other materials. Officials use Facebook and the website to post information on athletic, band and choir events, and report cards can be accessed on Parent Connect, an outlet on the district website.
McMahon notes that sending paper materials home is more time-consuming and costly, and printed items don’t always arrive at home.
‘Moneywise, (going to e-mail only) could save $12,000, but our primary interest is in getting information to families in the best way,? said McMahon. ‘A survey will be coming home soon and can be completed on the website.?
