Students of North Sashabaw Elemenentary School will join family and friends in saying goodbye to their classmate Ryan Kennedy, Friday, June 1.
The 10-year-old passed away peacefully at his home Saturday afternoon after a five-year battle with cancer, which included seven surgeries, four rounds of chemotherapy, and two courses of radiation for his Ependymoma, an uncommon but virulent form of brain cancer.
“He’s been brave and strong for almost five years battling cancer ? your love and support for the Kennedy family has been very much appreciated and will not be forgotten,” said North Sashabaw Principal Tara Ouellette in a letter to students.
Clarkston schools, joined by the community and friends from around the world, have been helping the Kennedy family with fund raisers and other support.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 30, 5-9 p.m., and Thursday, May 31, 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Wint Funeral Home, 5929 S. Main Street. The funeral will be at Clarkston Community Church, 6300 Clarkston Road, at 11 a.m. on June 1.
