Community service awards

Clarkston City Council presented You Make a Difference 2015 City of the Village of Clarkston citizen awards to activists from throughout the communtiy, Dec.14.
Citizens recognized for their service included:
Troop 13363 Girl Scouts Jennifer Herrmann, Emily Herrmann, Lauren Dombrowski, Bailey Schroeder, Hannah Music, Nadia Smith, Elizabeth Scheil, Olivia Thomas, Amy Music, and Julie Walker were honored, for their work with Little Free Libraries in Depot Park and on Main Street;
Angela Ninotti family, Sashabaw Plains DAR, for their work planting two city gardens; Clarkston Cultural Arts Council, Main Street city garden; Clarkston Farm and Garden Club, beautification of Clarkston; Theresa Cardinale, planting two city gardens; Michigan Pure Comfort members Karen Kaminsky, Nancy McLernon, Mike and Kathy Sabol, and Stacy Zorski; Rudi Schwarze for work on her grandfather’s memorial garden;
Clarkston Rotary Club, especially for its downtown holiday decorations and parades; Clarkston Area Optimists Club, especially for the ice rink in Depot Park; Don Frayer and Sharron Catallo for sponsoring Depot Park bridge lights and work in the city Tree Committee; Eric Haven, bridge light and Friends of Depot Park; Trish Henning, native plants for bridge;
Communications Committee members Sue Wylie, Mike Cascone, and Karen Eckert; Planning Commission members Frank Schoebel, Derek Werner, Robert Bondy, and Elizabeth Rogers; and Historic District Commission members Robert Sowles, Rhiannon Cherwak, Cara Catallo, Dave Bihl, and Kevin Harrison.
