On April 16-17, Clarkston residents will learn how to find their way out of the wilderness at Indian Springs Metropark’s Basic Orienteering program.
Among the topics being taught: natural ways of finding direction, learning how to read a topographical map, learning how to use a compass, making an indoor map and navigating a simple outdoor compass course.
The program would be a good fit for scout groups, home-school groups or families.
There is a fee of $2 for participation and preregistration is required. Call the Nature Center at 248-625-7280 for more information.
