Oxford resident Mike Lowis has earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University.
Mike, the son of Merry and Lee Lewis, graduated from Oxford High School in 2005.
While attending college, Mike worked as a teaching assisted. He competed at Iowa State University, University of Michigan in various computer programming competitions.
Mike is currently employed at a computer technology firm in Grand Rapids.

Gerad R. Murphy, a senior at Oxford High School, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Boy Scouts. For his Eagle service project, Gerry organized a can drive and obtained monetary and supply donations to build four outside benches for the senior center at Independence Village in Clarkston.
Materials were purchased, cut, and assembled into four kits. Fellow scouts, parents and leaders assisted with the assembly of the benches at the senior center on September 14, 2008.
Gerry has participated in Scouts since joining local Pack 4 as a Tiger Cub in 1997. As a member of Boy Scout Troop 186, Gerry has earned 25 merit badges and served as patrol and troop scribe and patrol chaplain aid.
Gerry has joined fellow scouts on hiking excursions to sites including Pictured Rocks. He has canoed through the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Canada and the rapids of Lower Youghiogheny River.
Gerry was the football co-captain of the 2008 Oxford Wildcats and starting lineman for two years. He is a member of the Captain’s Club. Gerry also enjoys weight-lifting, video games and music. He plans to study engineering or physical therapy and play football at Adrian College this fall.

Alicia Kramer, of Oxford, graduated from Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University in May, 2009 with highest honors. She majored in Physiology with a specialty in Bio-Ethics and Humanities.
She received the Michigan State University Board of Trustees award for her 4.0 cumulative GPA and the Department of Physiology academic achievement award at graduation.
She will be attending Wayne State University School of Medicine in the fall.
Alicia is a 2005 graduate of Oxford High School and the daughter of Jim and Denise Kramer.
