Cotton candy and snow cones fueled Paint Creek’s carnival

Friday, May 8 the students weren’t the only ones having a blast on the playground at Paint Creek Elementary.
Over 850 children, parents, teachers, and administrators joined in the fun at their first School Carnival school carnival.
The warm and sunny day featured a family-oriented atmosphere, complete with cotton candy and snow cone-fueled children, games, dancing, bounce houses, a football toss, cupcake walk, basketball shootout, duck pond, ring toss and fishing pond.
The impact of the Paint Creek Spring Carnival goes beyond just fun and games. Principal Lauren Sanborn sees the festival as a chance for the Paint Creek community at large to interact and become a closer family.
‘It was a fabulous event, and the kids are still talking about it,? Sanborn stated. ‘These are the types of things that we want to have more of because they bring our community together.?
The dunk tank seemed to be the most popular entertainment among the carnival-goers. Throughout the carnival, the principal, various Paint Creek teachers, and PTO board members took turns sitting on the platform waiting for a turn to be dunked in the chilly water.
The night ended with smiles, yawns and the sound of children’s voices begging for the carnival to come again next year.
