Crash kills Leonard man

It appears alcohol and speed may have played a role in the single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 37-year-old Leonard man just before 3 p.m. Friday, April 1.
Jerrious Wilburn Wright III, of Leonard, was traveling south on Secord Lake Road when it appears he lost control of his 1993 GMC Sonoma pickup truck, according to Deputy Gary Richert, of the Oakland County’s Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
Wright’s truck left the roadway and struck a tree about one mile north of Leonard Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although the cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation, Richert said it’s suspected alcohol and speed may have been factors.
