Creative people honored

Mr. Rogers may have created television’s most well-known neighborhood, but there are lots of Orion residents who are working to bring even more attention to Orion Neighborhood TeleVision.
Twenty eight community members on March 6 were recognized at the ONTV Annual Appreciation Banquet for creating programs seen on ONTV public access cable channel 10.
Special awards were given to the 2003 Producer of the Year, Sarah Paine and 2003 ONTV Volunteer of the Year, Jan Saunders.
Also celebrated were the efforts of the ONTV cablecasters who work to insure live coverage of local government meetings.
The Lake Orion Village Council, the Orion Township Board and the Orion Township Planning Commission are cablecast live on ONTV government access cable channel 20.
Board of education meetings are cablecast live on the second Wednesday of each month on ONTV education access channel 22.
ONTV Board President and Cable Commission President Doug Corliss presented a plaque to Jill Bastian for her years of service on the Orion Community Communications Commission.
