Larceny on Francis
On July 30 someone broke out the windows of a car on Francis Street. The vandals got away with the car speakers, the radio face plate and a 600 watt Orion amplifier.
Lost and found
On July 29 a Church Street man who had only lived in his house one day reported someone had gone through his vehicle and stolen his wallet and a digital camera. The next day both his camera and the contents of his wallet were found behind the church.
Wet Paint
On July 30 someone damaged a fresh paint job on Ortonville Road. No suspects were found.
Slashed tire on Hemlock
On July 31 a Hemlock Loop resident awoke to slashed tires on her pickup truck. No suspects were seen.
Slash on Wildwood
On July 31 all four tires were slashed on a van parked in the drive on Wildwood.

On July 31 the rear tires of a car were slashed on Wildwood.
Don’t come in
On July 31 a resident found someone had entered into her home through a back window and sprayed the fire extinguisher in the home. The next night someone entered the home, through the back window and drank a half of a bottle of rum.
Hold the phone
On July 31 a Cedar resident reported her phone had either been lost or stolen at the ball fields.
Slashing on Wildwood
On July 31 the rear tires of a car parked on Wildwood were slashed during the night. No suspects were reported.
Left the keys
On July 31 thieves ruffled through two Village Pine Lane vehicles, in the same driveway. The resident said he left the keys in the car and so did the thieves, but they did take the stereo.
Lock the doors
On Aug. 1 a Howland Pines Road resident left a lap top computer, a briefcase, Palm Pilot, and unopened beer in his unlocked car. In the morning the items were missing along with a passport that had been in his briefcase.
MDOP on M-15
On Aug 1 the rear window of a pickup topper was smashed out. There were no suspects reported in the area.
Green buds on Redbud and Cherry
On Aug. 1 a deputy was dispatched to investigate a loud group on the corner of Redbud and Cherry Streets. When he arrived approximately 6 teens were standing on the corner and he observed an underaged girl smoking a cigarette. When asked if she had more on her, she gave the pack to the officer who found a bag with marijuana inside. The teen was ticketed for possession and released to her parents.
Larceny on Lake Knowlls
On Aug. 2 thieves stole a phone and the charger from a vehicle on Lake Knowlls.
Warrant arrest
On Aug. 2 a 30-year-old Independence Township man was arrested on M-15 for a bench warrant.
Lock-it
On Aug. 4 an Old Farm Lane resident left a laptop computer and a bag of woman’s clothing in an unlocked car. In the morning the items were gone.
OUIL on Seymour Lake Road
On Aug. 5 a 29-year-old Oxford man failed to negotiate the turn at east and north Seymour Lake Road. His car ended up in the ditch and the driver was found by deputies on the opposite side of the road from the car. The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment and blood alcohol tests. The test results were .16. After treatment he was taken to the Oakland County Jail.
MDOP on Cresent Hill
On Aug. 8 destructive hands littered a home on Cresent Hill with eggs, Cheese Whiz, toilet paper, firecrackers and ketchup. No suspects were located in the area.

MDOP
On Aug. 6 an Ortonville resident said her car was damaged when it was rear-ended at the Brandon High School.
Felonious assault
On Aug 7 a man pointed a gun at a 39-year-old driver at Oakhill and Sashabaw Roads. The woman said she was driving to work when a light blue car pulled out in front of her, failing to stop at the side street stop sign. She pulled close behind the car to let them know they had almost hit her. She saw there was two people in the car, the driver a female in her 30’s with blond shoulder length hair. The passenger, who was pointing the gun at her, was a male in his 30’s with chin length hair. The woman did not get the license number of the car as she said she was too frightened for her four-year-old daughter’s life.
Wrong house
Brandon deputies were called to a Groveland group home to assist in removing a black male who did not belong at the home. Deputies searched the house but could not find the male.
Red eyed minor
On Aug 9 deputies were called to Apple and Fir streets because people were being loud in the park. While looking for the accused noisemakers, officers found an 18-year-old male hiding in a tent. The minor smelled of intoxicants and had blurred, red eyes. The homeowner said the teen was not welcome on the property. The youth said the rest of the noisemakers took off running. The minor’s breathelizer test registered .129.
Green relish and eggs
On Aug 9 a Lockwood resident woke when she hear a loud noise outside. When she went to check what the noise was she saw her car had been pelted with eggs and smeared with relish and a creamy substance on the window and sides of the car. She also saw that her trees were TP’d.
Noisy neighbors
On Aug. 9 deputies were called to settle a noise complaint on Lockwood. The resident complained that his neighbors? children were racing dirt bikes within 300 feet of his property. He stated he has had problems with the property owners before and said it’s gone on far too long.
Disturbing the peace
On Aug 9 a group of teens were observed by neighbors playing on top of the playground equipment. The neighbor said the juveniles were too loud.
OUIL
On Aug 13 deputies were dispatched to what appeared to be a loud party on Fir Court, including fireworks. When officers arrived they observed two carloads of people riding around lighting off fireworks. One of the cars was pulled over and the officer smelled alcohol on the driver. The driver was given a breathelizer test and it registered .176. The driver was taken to Oakland County Jail.

Suspended license
On Aug. 10, a Michigan State Trooper executed a traffic stop on Tindall Road in Groveland Township for defective equipment. The driver, from Holly, was found to have a suspended license, and was given a court date and was released.
Chip and go
On Aug.13, a van damaged a portion of the A&W building while pulling away. The deputy said it appeared the corner had been hit before, as well.
Wrong change
A cashier at Rite Aid was duped when a tall, bearded black male repeatedly demanded change for 20’s, 50’s and 100 dollar bills. After buying a pack of cigarettes the man scammed change by trading fives for 20’s, and singles for 50’s. The man appeared to have a lot of small bills. After the man wore out his scam the customer who was in line behind him followed him to another area store and copied down his car make and license number. The scammer had two black males waiting for him in the car. The Rite Aid cash register till ended up being more than $150 short.
Where’s your proof?
On Aug. 15 Michigan State Trooper was investigating a two car traffic crash on I-75. One of the drivers, a Waterford woman, was unable to produce a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, had expired plates and could not produce other important vehicle information. She was given tickets for all and was released.
Back Pocket Bandit and Fugitive Friend
A Pontiac man was stopped by Michigan State Police on Dixie Highway and Grange Hall Road on Aug. 17 for improper lane use. The man stepped out of the car and was patted down for the trooper’s safety. The trooper observed a clear plastic bag in the man’s back pocket and discovered it was marijuana. He was released with an appearance date. The passenger was found to have an outstanding warrant and was transported to Oakland County Jail.
Hey, watch the drill
On Aug. 19 a construction worker’s vehicle was struck by a flying drill while he and his boss were leaving the job site. Shortly before leaving the company owner exchanged heated words with the customer. The owner was leaving the scene when the customer threw a cordless drill at the employee’s rear truck window. The customer was ticketed for disorderly conduct.
Who was that man
On Aug. 13 a Church Street resident reported that her son had seen an unknown man in her backyard. When police arrived, the man was gone. Patrols were increased in the area.
Tool thief
A Holly man reported to the State Police that four of his tool boxes were stolen from his truck on Aug. 13 on Dixie Highway and Holdrige Road. The missing tools totaled nearly $500.

Larceny on Stanton
On Aug. 28 a Stanton resident discovered her cell phone was missing from her vehicle.
Larceny on Glass
On Aug. 29 a resident discovered someone had siphoned more than 40 gallons of gas from his motor home. The gassers also stole a $300 air wrench from the garage. There are no suspects.
Scrapper on Red Bud
On Aug. 29 the Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a fight and home invasion on Red Bud. The suspect forced himself into the home and a fight broke out. The homeowner suffered a black eye from the fight.
During the fight the scrapper tossed a trash can into the front window of a neighbor. The trasher ran from the scene and was found hiding under a bed, along with two women, on Wildwood. The suspect was arrested.OWI on Dogwood
While monitoring traffic on Aug. 30 a sheriff noted a driver run the stop sign at Dogwood and Juniper. The officer noted the license plate of the car was expired. When the driver was pulled over, the officer noticed a strong smell of intoxicants. A breathelizer registered .109. The driver was arrested and taken to Oakland County Jail.
Neighbor stops burglary
On Aug. 30 a neighbor called police when he noticed the neighbors’ dog barking and agitated. When police arrived they found the back door of the neighbors’ home was open but no one was in the home.
Parking lot trouble
On Aug. 30, a Holly man was parked outside Dirty’s Bar on Dixie Highway when he noticed his drivers door was broken in. The man called Michigan State Police to make the report. They noticed in addition to the window, a small dent was visible on the outside of the car from rocks that were strewn when the suspect pulled away. The suspect has not been apprehended.
Fugitive on the run
On Aug. 28, Michigan State Police were called to Groveland Manor. The parks manager said he thought someone lived there that matched a description of an armed robbery suspect from the previous day. The trooper went to the residence and found three occupants. The trooper asked each for identification, and found one of the men was wanted by Children’s Village in Pontiac. The man said he was someone else, but his grandmother verified he was indeed wanted. The seventeen year old was taken into custody.

Tabs taken
For the fourth time in three weeks tab thieves are snipping through Brandon Township. On Dec.3 a Myron Road resident found that someone cut the license plate date tabs from his vehicle that was sitting in his driveway. There ae no suspects.
Gutter matter
On Dec 3 a Mill Street resident heard a message on her answering machine that the contractor who made repairs on her home in October was going to remove the gutters from her home if he did not receive a final payment. The resident called deputies seeking advice to stop the man from tearing the gutters off of her home. She stated the house belonged to her mother and that her mom felt she paid for the repairs in full. The resident was advised the issue was a civil matter and could not be handled by the police.

Voltage theft
On Dec 7 a S. Hurd Road resident discovered that someone stole the batteries from both of his garden tractors, by cutting the cables and removing the shock boxes from their seats. There are no suspects.
Goodrich man rolls car
While on patrol, deputies discovered an injured man walking along M-15 near Seymour Lake Road. The 28 year old Goodrich male was bleeding from the face, wearing pajamas and not wearing shoes. When officers stopped the man they smelled alcohol and the man said he had been at a bon fire nearby. He said he hurt his face when he fell, but recanted his story when the deputy asked him how he rolled his car that was upside down in the nearby ditch. The man admitted he rolled it and that he had three drinks after getting in a fight with his wife, before getting behind the wheel. Eventually the man told officers he actually drank between five and seven mixed drinks before driving. A breathelizer at the scene registered a .79.
Brandon Fire Department paramedics transported the man to the clinic for treatment of seat belt injuries and a blood test was taken for alcohol content, but results were not available.
