The 24th annual CROP Walk to stop hunger will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, on Waldon Road in Orion Township, this Sunday, May 7.
The walk begins at 2 p.m., and this year’s route begins and ends at Christ the Redeemer, traveling west on Waldon (cutting through a portion of the Keatington Subdivision), to Baldwin Road, north on Baldwin to Orion Oaks Park, and then through the park and out to Joslyn Road, where walkers will head south to Waldon.
Safety paths are present on the major roads. There is an alternate shorter walk route from Christ the Redeemer to St. Mary’s-in-the-Hills on Joslyn Road, and back.
This year’s walk aims to raise $35,000 locally, and is sponsored by Church World Service.
