Brandon Twp.-Dr. Brent Musolf has teamed up with Dr. Jay Stark at the Brandon Chiropractic Center, 70 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville.
Musolf, a native of Southgate and a Port Austin resident, will see patients specifically for spinal decompression therapy on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
Musolf attended the University of Michigan’Dearborn and completed studies at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas. He served an internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas. In 1998 Musolf returned to Michigan with Health Quest of Bad Axe.
‘So many patients that I have worked with through the years have not been bad enough for surgery,? he said.
‘With decompression therapy we can touch people’s lives and alleviate pain and discomfort with remarkable success.?
Decompression relieves pain by creating a vacuum type suction which reverses the high pressure inside the disc (high intra-disc pressure) and draws the bulging or herniated material back into the disc.
Decompression therapy is for those with lower back pain caused by bulging or herniated discs, who have been unsuccessful in getting relief by conventional treatment methods, which Stark has provided for more than 12 years in the Ortonville area.
‘With Dr. Musolf on board I’ll have more opportunities and time for my regular patients who need care,? he said.
‘The people in the Ortonville area have been wonderful to me.?
Conventional chiropractic therapy treats lower back, neck and shoulder pain; carpal tunnel syndrome; sciatic pain; and headaches. General wellness is the goal of chiropractic adjustment and can restore alignment of the spine, take pressure off the nerves, relax muscles and help the body function at an optimal level.
Brandon Chiropractic Center is open Monday- Wednesday -Friday 7 a.m.-noon, and 2:30 -6:30 p.m. Tuesday 2:30-6:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 -11 a.m.
