Dear editor,
Kudos to the cooks and wait staff at CJ’s! As a chemo patient, I am always trying to eat well to keep my blood counts up between treatments.
Liver is one food I love that helps boost hemoglobin (red blood cells) – if it’s cooked right.
A couple of weeks ago, I was able to order liver and onions at CJ’s (one of their many delicious dinner platters), done superbly in a more natural, ‘low-fat? style, upon request, by Chef Matt and his fellow cooks. And our waitperson, Courtney, checked to make sure it was just what I ordered.
What a fabulous meal! Everything was cooked to perfection and so tender: the two huge pieces of liver, the onions, mashed potatoes, gravy, and side of mixed vegetables.
And we even had lots of food left over to take home for another meal.
P.S. Their beef pasty is authentic and great-tasting, as well!
Thanks, CJ’s!
