After years of lobbying for one, downtown Oxford will finally get a second traffic signal later this year.
According to village Manager Joe Young, the Michigan Department of Transportation is planning to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Broadway St. and M-24 by July 1.
‘They said the design work would start at the end of this month and be finished in May,? Young said.
The light will give downtown another signalized pedestrian crossing besides the one at Burdick St. and M-24.
Once the light is installed, left-turns will be prohibited onto Broadway from southbound M-24 and onto Mechanic St. from northbound M-24. ? CJC
