Looking for a dentist on the cutting edge of technology with a friendly staff? You’ve found him in Dr. Rocco Ciccone.
Dr. Ciccone has had his practice at 425 North Park Boulevard for five years, but practiced for over seven years in Lathrup Village. A friend introduced him to a dentist in Lake Orion who was retiring, and willing to sell his practice.
“We do just about everything here,” says Dr. Ciccone. “We do cosmetic work, we work on children, we do root canals, minor surgery and implant restoration. About the only thing we don’t do is orthodontic.”
Dr. Ciccone earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Detroit, and graduated from dental school there in 1986.
Dr. Ciccone has also been a forensic dentist since 1987, and often lectures in the United States and Canada, where he’s also licensed. He traveled to New York City after September 11th and used his skills as a forensic dentist to help identify victims.
At Dr. Ciccone’s Lake Orion practice, patients can expect to find nothing less then top-of-the-line treatment and the best that technology has to offer.
“We were the first in the state with the Luma Arch System,” says Dr. Ciccone. “It’s proven very effective for whitening. We are getting spectacular results in 40 to 60 minutes, rather than days or weeks.”
Dr. Ciccone’s office also uses quieter hand pieces for performing dental work. This is good news for patients who get nervous at the whir of the drill.
“We do nothing less than the best,” says Dr. Ciccone. “I also do emergency dentistry. I’ve been known to be here in the middle of the night and on holidays.”
Dr. Ciccone is always working hard to keep up with the latest in dental technology, and says he takes “more than his share” of continuing education courses.
“I also consult with a dental magazine so I get products before they are on the market,” he says. “It gives us a leg up on what’s new and what’s coming.
Dr. Ciccone focuses on “friendly, patient-centered service,” and has evening and some Saturday hours available for busy patients.
“Saturdays are extremely popular. We always try to be as accommodating as humanly possible…emergencies are generally same day,” he says.
“The challenge (as a dentist) is keeping up with technology and maintaining our track record of picking good new products and services,, that will best benefit our patients.”
One such service is rotary endodontics, which has greatly affected the outcome of root canals.
“It’s made the outcome of root canals more predictable,” Dr. Ciccone says.
Dr. Ciccone also has a website in the works, which he hopes to have up and running by summer.
Dr. Ciccone’s hours are Monday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Tuesday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wednesday, 7 a.m.-1 p.m.; and Thursday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. The office is open selected Saturdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
