A power outage last Monday was caused when a main power line came down near Oakwood Road and M-15. The outage affected about 3,400 customers in the Ortonville area. John Austerberry, a spokesman for DTE Energy, said the reason for the line coming down is unknown, but speculated that earlier icy weather conditions could have weakened the power line. The power failed at 11:10 a.m. By 3:05 p.m., 1,600 customers had power returned. By 7:30 p.m., most of the rest were restored and Austerberry said a ‘very small number? were not restored until after 8 p.m., because a blown fuse was masked by the larger problem.
