All those ‘not so friendly? products gathering dust around your home can be safely and legally dumped during the ‘Household Hazardous Waste Day? at the Eagle Valley Recycle & Disposal Facility (600 West Silverbell Road) on Saturday, May 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is open to residents of Oxford, Addison, Oakland and Orion townships ONLY! Identification will be requested and must be shown.
There is no fee for dumping your hazardous waste, but voluntary donations are welcome.
The following products will be accepted during the Household Hazardous Waste Day ? acids, adhesives, aerosols, anti-freeze, asbestos, batteries, car batteries, dioxins, fertilizers, fluorescent light bulbs, gasoline, herbicides, household cleaners, mercury, motor oil, oil-based paints, pesticides, pool chemicals, solvents, stains, thinners and wood preservatives.
The following products will NOT be accepted ? ammunition, compressed gas cylinders (propane tanks, fire extinguishers), electronics (computers, etc.), explosives, latex paint, radioactives (including smoke detectors) and regulated medical waste (needles).
