Independence Township Department of Public Works offers free electronics recycling, 8 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 6050 Flemings Lake Road.
They will accept televisions, stereos, monitors, speakers, computers, miscellaneous cables, laptops, computer parts, printers, telephones, fax machines, cell phones, copiers, scanners, game consoles, VCRs, keyboards and mouses, DVD and CD players, microwaves, and handheld electronic devices.
They will not accept typewriters, terminals, large copy machines, electronic tools, cash registers, and all small and large household appliances such as toaster ovens, hair dryers, refrigerators, and dish washers.

Electronics recycling
Clarkston Community Schools partnered with Computer Recyclers of Michigan in Computer and Small Electronic Community Recycling Day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, Sashabaw Middle School, 5565 Pine Knob Lane off Maybee Road.
Our students are asking for a $5 donation per family. All proceeds will be collected by and given to our students who are saving for a new greenhouse.
Items accepted include working and non-working computers and accessories, printers, video and audio equipment, cameras,cell phones, and other electronics.
