Carrie Lee’s Chinese Restaurant is currently closed after a fire in their kitchen last Wednesday night.
The call for the fire came in at 10:05 p.m. on March 12, according to fire logs.
Lake Orion Fire Marshal Bob Smith said that the fire appears to be accidental, but the insurance company is looking into a variety of factors that could have been the cause of the blaze.
According to Smith, the fire caused significant smoke and water damage, but no structural damage to the building.
Several of the plaza’s businesses were already closed for the evening, but as a precaution, the fire department evacuated Kroger’s, which was still open.
‘Everybody was open the next day, except Carrie Lee’s,? he added.
It is unclear how long the restaurant will remain closed.
