Five more OHS athletes to enter Hall of Fame

On Friday, Sept. 5 at halftime of the Rochester Hills Stoney Creek vs. Oxford varsity football game, the Oxford High School athletic department will honor the school’s fifth hall of fame class that includes five very important contributors to the legacy of Wildcat athletics.
The festivities will continue on the following day when a ceremony honoring the inductees will be held at the Oxford High School Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.
The 2014 class of the OHS Athletics Hall of Fame will include:Ted Freymiller, Coach and Contributor, Terry Geliske (?82), Elijah Jones (1900), Lisa Starr (?82), and Danny VanVleet (?64). The Leader will be highlighting each of these nominees in the weeks to come, leading up to the induction ceremony.
Nominations were solicited from alumni and the community and are voted on after preliminary research is conducted.
Hall of fame selection committee members and contributors for the 2014 class are Steve Laidlaw, Joe Ferrari, Mark Stepek, Helen Smith, John Thaler and Andrew McDonald.
