The Orion Township Parks and Recreation Department-sponsored “Barn Daze” event went off without a hitch on Oct. 11 at Friendship Park at the corner of Clarkston and Baldwin Roads. The annual event based around the Porritt Barn topped last year’s numbers, with 4,800 people coming out to enjoy the nice weather and fall-related activities. Jennifer Rowe of the parks and rec department said they had about 3,000 people at last year’s event, and that participants this year seemed to enjoy new activities like the Civil War reenactment and a bake sale. Next year’s Barn Daze is scheduled for Oct. 9. Photo provided by Orion Parks and Recreation.
