The Historic White Horse Inn in Metamora will be hosting a fund-raiser for Karin Rivest and her two children, Rachael and Hunter, on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Rivests’ Addison Township home exploded and burned on Jan. 5, claiming the lives of 43-year-old Mike Rivest and 20-month-old Gage.
The cost of the fund-raiser dinner is $25 per adult and $10 per child (age 10 and under), which will be collected at the door. A selection of favorite White Horse Inn entrees will be served.
Addison Township firefighters will work as guest servers and bartenders. Any gratuities received by the firefighters will be donated to the Rivests.
Pinecrest Percherons and Carriage Service will be providing a free sleigh ride for anyone who donates at least $10 to the Rivests.
If you’re unable to attend the fund-raiser, but would still like to make a financial contribution, mail your check to Michelle Hillman, 615 Vista Del Sol Drive, Lapeer, MI 48446.
The Historic White Horse Inn is located at the corner of Oak and High Street (Dryden Road) in downtown Metamora, one mile east of Lapeer Road (M-24) and seven miles west of Rochester Road.
