The Foerdegymasium Big Band and Choir from Flensburg, Germany will visit Lake Orion on June 20-23 , as part of the Blue Lake International Exchange Program.
Members of the 25-piece band and 27-member choir will stay in private homes in Lake Orion and surrounding communities. Host families are still needed to house some of the students. Any interested families can contact host chairman Kristofer Libstaff at (248) 634-1225.
As a warm-up event to the Wednesday Night Gazebo Series in downtown Lake Orion, the Foerdegymnasium Big Band and Choir will play a concert on June 21, at 7 p.m. at the gazebo in Children’s Park.
The big band and choir is one of 11 European musical groups visiting Michigan during 2006 as part of the Blue Lake program.
