Gleeden Robert Pletcher of Landrum, South Carolina, formerly of Ortonville, died June 15, 2016.

He was 87.

Born March 14, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to the late Bernis and Golda (nee: Criswell) Pletcher. He married the former Shirley May Ruple on Sept. 11, 1948 in Ortonville. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley; one son, Brian (Ann) Pletcher; one daughter Cindy (Roger) Seelbinder; eight grandchildren; Ryan, Rick and Matt Seelbinder, Josh, Jeff, Chris and Katy Pletcher and Steven Knox; two brothers, Clyde (Judy) Pletcher and Bob Ames; surrogate daughter, Karen (Rod) Mersino; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Brent “Howdy” Pletcher. Glenn retired from Fisher Body and formerly operated Village Dry Goods. He was a Life Member of the Ortonville Masonic Lodge #339 F & AM. Past President of the Ortonville Chamber of Commerce and a past member of the Ortonville Village Council. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at Ortonville United Methodist Church, 93 Church St., Ortonville. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 pm. at Village Funeral Home, Ortonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Ortonville United Methodist Church.
