For 10 years, Tom Taylor’s office has been in a construction trailer parked on different parts of school properties. He oversaw construction of new schools, a new transportation building, a science center and major remodeling of existing Lake Orion School District buildings.
Taylor, a project manager with Barton-Malow told school board members on Jan. 12 he and his family are moving to San Francisco. He said his new job will be constructing high rise buildings, not schools.
Taylor said he was committed to not leaving Lake Orion until the constructions projects were pretty much wrapped up. ‘There will be no more Lake Orions for me,? he added.
School board president Leeann Bartley told Taylor he had done an awesome job. ‘We appreciate everything you have done,? she added. He was given a gift.
