Goodrich’s varsity boys golf team is enjoying a solid start to its season.
The Martians won their most recent contest Aug. 24, which was a Genesee Area Conference triangular meet against LakeVille and Mt. Morris at The Timbers Golf Course in Mt. Morris.
Goodrich shot a team score of 153, 15 strokes better than second-place LakeVille, which finished at 168. Mt. Morris placed third at 172.
Frankie Rogers led all Goodrich individual golfers with a round of 36.
The Martians also won the GAC preseason tournament at Hunter’s Ridge Golf Course in Byron, finishing with a team score of 322. Lake Fenton was second with 328.
Goorich was slated to take on Byron and New Lothrop Aug. 31 in a triangular match at Willowbrook Golf Course in Byron.
