Despite Amber Beard’s best efforts, the Goodrich girls soccer team had to settle for a tie against Millington May 4.
Beard accounted for both Goodrich goals scored against the host Cardinals, but Millington countered with two goals of their own as the teams battled to a draw.
In a May 3 contest, the visiting Martians shut out Byron 6-0. Meredith Mayberry scored three goals for the Martians, while Natalie Cook added two goals and Ali Smith one goal.
Brittany Beard (Amber’s sister) earned the win in goal for the Martians.
Goodrich is now 5-2-1 on the season. They return to action May 10 when they host Montrose at 5 p.m.
